CBTS Accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)
This week, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability granted accreditation status to Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary. This certifies that CBTS’s financial practices are in compliance with its seven standards of responsible stewardship.
About ECFA
The following was drawn from the ECFA website. ECFA is a growing community of leading churches and ministries committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity. Their seven standards of responsible stewardship are drawn from Scripture and are each fundamental to an organization that operates with integrity. The ECFA Seal is a “Symbol of Trust”, showing donors, staff, and the world that a ministry is committed to operating above reproach.
Donors should be assured that gifts and donations are being stewarded well. The ECFA standards set a high bar for organizations, often far above the minimums required by law, making it easy to find a trusted ministry and connect your generosity to worthy, Christ-centered causes.
Statement from Brice Bigham (CFO)
“I am thankful to the Lord for ECFA certification. This is public recognition of something we take very seriously at CBTS—trustworthy financial stewardship. When donors give to CBTS, they can trust that those funds will be stewarded to accomplish the specific purpose for which they were given—to support the training of the next generation of Gospel ministers.
In the words of the Apostle Paul, ‘It is required of stewards that they be found faithful’ (1 Corinthians 4:2), and ‘we take this course so that no one should blame us about this generous gift that is being administered by us, for we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord’s sight but also in the sight of man’ (2 Corinthians 8:20–21).”
