My visit to Reformed Baptist Church, Louisville

by | Oct 11, 2010 | Current Events, Preaching

I had the privilege of preaching at the Reformed Baptist Church of Louisville last night for my friend Pastor Jim Savastio. Jim was in NY preaching at a youth conference. I preached on Ephesians 2:4-5a, The Redemtpive Heart of God Exposed. It was good to see some folks I had not seen in quite some time and to meet new ones. I found the congregation very attentive and easy to preach to. Preachers will know what I mean by this. An attentive congregation is due, in part, to a faithful pulpit ministry. I came away saying to my wife, “God has blessed Jim’s ministry.”

Why Join a Local Church? | Tom Hicks

Many Christians today question whether it’s necessary or even biblical to join local churches. Some think joining a church will rob them of personal freedom and independence. Others believe they may attend several different churches without ever committing to just one. Some even believe they don’t need to be part of any particular local church, but that they may stay at home, pray privately, and watch sermons on the internet for their personal edification.
